Agent City: Santa Ana or Ciudad Colon
Neighborhood: Santa Ana or Ciudad Colon
About this Agent: Michael Newhouse first visited the country in 2000 and decided the climate and cost of living here was an ideal place to call home. Having lived in Colorado Springs for the last 20 years, fighting the cold weather and snow he chose to close his Jewelry Store and move to the slower pace of life.
Michael has lots of experience dealing with foreigners and looks like a good fit for the real estate business in Costa Rica. He worked for TWA Airlines 15 years and was stationed in Saudi Arabia 5 of those years. He traveled almost the entire world with exception of a few countries. Before TWA he was in the military stationed in Korea, Japan and Thailand. After TWA he lived and worked in England for 3 years where he owned a consulting business.
He communicates with people well and has a good understanding of sales as he owned a jewelry store for 15 years in Colorado Springs, CO.
He was employed here Costa Rica for four and a half years on a construction project that has built 28 North American style homes. In this position he administrated and organized the entire project and was involved in the sales of the homes. The project is now completed and he has chosen to work in real estate since having last worked in the construction area.
His past experience of living in seven different countries has also enabled him to communicate well with foreigners who are now looking to move or invest in this beautiful Costa Rica.
With his experience in Costa Rican real estate, Michael is happy to help locate the perfect Costa Rica property for you in Santa Ana or Ciudad Colon, and help you with all aspects of Costa Rica retirement and relocation.

Agent City: Atenas
Neighborhood: Atenas
About this Agent: Your Atenas and La Garita real estate Specialists
Howard and Isabelle Jones
We are Isabelle and Howard Jones and we fell in love with Costa Rica and Atenas in particular when we first visited the country in 1991.
We fulfilled our dream/goal by moving to beautiful Atenas in January, 2003 from Colorado, U.S.A.
When we looked to buy property in Atenas we quickly found that a full service professional realtor for the Atenas area was really the only thing missing to make their move easier.
After searching for the right way for over a year, we decided to become the GoDutch Realty franchisee for the Atenas area, since that would give us the opportunity to master the difficulties of real estate in this beautiful country.
We have over 15 years of property/casualty insurance and computer sales. We speak English, Polish and handle ourselves well in Spanish. Of course we are supported by the other GoDutch Realty offices for anything we (or our) might need.
We not only sell properties in Atenas. We show our clients everything that is needed to know to be able to live in Atenas. We will show you the restaurants in Atenas and will tell you which one serves the best food. We will also show you where the best shopping in Atenas is and where to find a real estate attorney in Atenas.
Living in Atenas is awesome. We can say so because we live in Atenas ourselves and are very happy here.
Our main job is to make you feel at home in Atenas and surrounding areas. We’ll be there for you long after the closing on your property. And if you ever plan to leave, we will with pleasure help you with the sale of your property in Atenas.
If you need to look around for a while, we can also help you to look for a house for rent in Atenas.
Isabelle and Howard expect to go the extra mile for all of those who plan to make Atenas and surrounding areas their new home.

Agent City: Escazu
Neighborhood: Escazu
About this Agent: If you are looking to buy a home in Costa Rica or invest in a condo anywhere in the central Valley, or looking for any property for sale in Escazu, you need to call me. I have been doing real estate in Escazu for over 20 years and can show you hundreds of happy buyers of real estate in Escazu and other areas. To me, a deal is not a good deal unless both buyer and seller are happy.
I was born in Holland (so I’m Dutch) and I came to Costa Rica in 1980 looking for new horizons. I have had many businesses over the years and have found out first hand how difficult it is to learn to adapt to a new country with a different language and a different culture. Of course in the 80’s almost no one spoke any English and even less Dutch, so I had to learn the language as soon and as best as I could. Over the years, I have had several businesses: a window cleaning company, fishing boats, a supply delivery company for beach hotels and a spice wholesale company.
After living a few years in this beautiful country, the real estate deals began coming up. Countrymen and friends of all kinds of nationalities, who were transferred or wanted to leave the country, asked me to take care of their properties or help him sell them.
In 1997, I decided to sell and shut down all my companies and started working full time in real estate and founded GoDutch Realty in the same year. Now, with several offices nationwide, GoDutch realty is one of the largest real estate companies in Costa Rica. This success is based on watching out for our customers, and making sure that all our agents are well trained and offer you the best available service, seriousness and punctuality all clients deserve.
In 1999 I felt that, since we had no MLS here, there was a definite need for real estate agents to work together, so with two other realtor we founded the American European Real estate Group (AE Costa Rica – Easy Properties), which was one of the very first mini MLS in Costa Rica where you can find properties offered by over 50 real estate agents in Costa Rica, all well trained and living up to high standards set by the group.
I am fluent in English, Spanish and Dutch. So give me a call or send me an email if you are looking for a trustworthy real estate agent who is a go-getter and enjoys good people, a serious buyer and finding you the right property.

About this Agent: What I like about Los Santos, Costa Rica
My name is Tony Warren and my wife and I live in the area of Los Santos. I am the GoDutch Realty Los Santos real estate agent. Please allow me to write a bit about living in Los Santos and tell you some of the reasons why I love to live here. One of my neighbors just stopped by to bring me some homemade cheese; we talked awhile and made plans to go trout fishing next weekend in the river below town.
Los Santos is old-time Costa Rica at its best. Neighbors still have time to visit and when needed lend a helping hand. The air is clean, the streams are crystal clear and birds start singing at daybreak each morning. I haven’t seen a traffic jam since last time I was in San Jose.
Los Santos isn’t for everyone. We don’t have too many ocean views, but I love the views of the mountains from my garden behind my house. Some don’t like the cool evenings, but I enjoy sitting by the fire and reading a book. Some think it’s to quiet, but I enjoy the croak of the frogs and the early morning songs of the birds. Others may feel it’s too dark at night, but I love to look up at the myriads of stars in the sky.
I like that the girl at the grocery store knows be by name and asks how my family is doing. I like sharing a beer at the pub with some of the old-timers and hear their stories. I like taking long walks in the woods and seeing the birds and animals. I enjoy helping a neighbor pick strawberries that he will take to the farmers market. I like stopping by another neighbor to see his new hydroponics system for growing lettuce and celery. And I enjoy putting into practice some of things I learned in my own garden. I enjoy watching Abuelo work his oxen to plow a field on the side of a hill. Every day there is always something new to enjoy.
Los Santos is a large area that covers the cantons of Dota, Tarrazu and Leon Cortez and is part of the province of San Jose. There are several large towns (though none large enough to have a traffic light) and nearly a hundred smaller towns and communities. It is a bit south of San Jose and it usually entered from the Pan American highway between Cartago and San Isidro. Weather can be quite cool in the higher mountains (where I live) or warmer in the lower valleys. Agriculture is the main production of the area though there is also a growing number of tourists that visit the area, especially the national parks and forests that are in the area.
If you are thinking of a move to Costa Rica and like the country life-style then you really should check out Los Santos, you won’t be disappointed. Give me a call or shoot me an email, I promise you’ll be in for a good time.
Tony Warren
