I am not a political person but I want you to vote for Obama. Some might smile at this comment and some might hate me for it. That’s why I generally stay away from politics, religion and issues that should not be mixed in business in my blogs.

The reason for me writing this is really because Shell Johanson, our agent in Cariari, sent me the cartoon below. I have always thought it was just me that saw this happen, but it seems to be a general feeling. Those clients that have been with me in the past couple of months, as well as many North American voters that I meet every day will agree that I have been promoting Obama like crazy.

Don’t worry, I have not gone crazy (yet), this has a reason.

The reason

Obama is great for business, at least for the Costa Rica real estate business, just like George Bush Jr. was great for our business. Hundreds of North American voters who could not live with Mr. Bush Jr.’s second term that moved to Costa Rica after November 2004 and I loved it. Of course I want America’s economy to be good and I want all North Americans to be happy. But I’d like you to be happy while living in Costa Rica. It’s great for my agents’ economy and mine.

Many emails

Over the past couple of months, we have had 10 times more leads from our websites than we have had at other times. A lot of clients, when they get here and look at property with our agents, express themselves about what they think about Obama staying in power and the reason they’re looking to buy a home in Costa Rica. And when they see how well we live in Costa Rica, the great weather, no army, very little taxes, the beautiful nature     and the very reasonable cost of living, they all want to live here. And I tell them to vote for Obama…..

But you know, don’t worry, no matter who will win the 2012 elections, in Costa Rica we are ready for you.
