I would like to tell you all about this incredibly beautiful older home I just listed right on the Cariari golf course. This 6,600 square feet Spanish colonial was one of the first homes built in Cariari and has been continiously updated.
This almost 1/2 an acre property overlooks the length of the 8th fairway and its green and also the tee-off at the ninth hole of the Cariari Golf and Country Club. Very few Cariari homes for sale offer this kind of luxury setting.
The home is one of the finest golf properties availables in Costa Rica and offers five bedrooms and 4 bedrooms on the 2nd floor, all spaciously set up for the luxury lifestyle you are looking for, plus a second floor patio with a gorgeous veranda overlooking the golf course.

This is one of those occasions that I get a call from a seller, asking me to list this Escazu view home he has for sale and he checked out enough realtors online to make an educated decision on who to list his property with. The seller and I have been living in Costa Rica for more or less the same amount of time, but he travels a lot and has a home in the US too. Therefore he decided to sell his home in Bello Horizonte, Escazu. I know the neighborhood well because I lived like 200 yards up the road back in the eighties, so I know the neighborhood very well. Over the years, I have sold quite a few properties in that Bello Horizonte neighborhood and right now, I have the house across the street also listed and even a building lot on the other side. Now, this might sound like everyone in the neighborhood is selling but that's not the case. For those buyers who are looking for a different lifestyle, living in Escazu is what you are looking for.

It is not so easy to find an affordable 2 bedroom Costa Rica condo for sale in a great location. There are large condo buildings are popping up around Sabana Park everywhere. It is just like all those condo buildings that are going up in Panama City, they look beautiful, very city like, but who the heck is going to buy them? Most start at $450K. But just by sheer luck, I found this 2-bedroom and 2-bath condo for sale on the first floor, nice and clean environment, selling for just $10 under $135,000. This condo was built in 1989 and is located in a much nice neighborhood than most in this price range can ever be.

I have to let you all know about this totally rustic home in Escazu that I just listed because it is a very cozy home which has this incredible view of the Central Valley but because of the rains, I have not been able to take a decent picture yet.
Every morning I look out of my office window, where I can usually see the area of Bello Horizonte, but the rain hasn't allowed me to go take better pictures than I have on the listing.
Most think that living in Escazu is all about highrises and traffic and shopping, but this area of town is totally the opposite. This is abotu quiet and green surroundings and views.

The Costa Rica real estate market has been slow but steady during the last couple of years, at least in the Central Valley area. Prices have remained pretty firm though in spite of the world economic crisis. I have had many clients here looking for fire sales, and while there are some, they are not nearly as common as in the US, and some people have been disappointed that prices didn’t crash to get it on paradise for a bottom line price.
This absolutely gorgeous home in Naranjo was built in 2009 and offers 2 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms and huge balconies to enjoy the stunning views. Designed to enjoy life, this prime prioperty is located in El Rosario de Naranjo, the climate is gorgeous, and many tropical plants thrive here. There is space to build an apartment or a bedroom suite connected to the house. There is also plenty of room for a guest house, pool, and ranch.

I have seen hundreds of homes in my Costa Rica real estate career but not every often I see one with a heart and a soul. Twelve years ago, an old client asked me to go see this home she owned in a small gated community in the Alto de las Palomas in Escazu, right on the western city limits between Escazu and Santa Ana. She wanted me to help her rent it as it became available. This home used to be her old family home and when the kids grew up, they divided the large lot in 4 and built 3 more homes, one for each kid. When her husband passed away in a car accident, she moved on to Santa Ana and the kid´s homes were first rented out and then sold to other people. When I walked in to the house, I knew I had to buy it. I asked her if she would sell it and said she would think about it. I called my wife Dany, she came, walked into the home and saw the bones, the heart and the soul of it. We bought it a week later, totally remodeled it and 7 years ago sold it to someone who came a very dear friend.

SOLD - SOLD - SOLD. Now that I just posted a blog about yoga classes a couple of days ago, I'd like to stay in the same mood and tell you all about this incredibly beautiful Bali style estate I just listed a couple of weeks ago.
Linda and Fred, the owners, have built a Bali style home in Atenas before and Linda, a home made interior designer with a great flair for tropical Asian style architecture and design, has had lots of fun building this mansion.

When the ower called me asking to list his property in San Pedro Poas, I wasn't really interested because of the distance I'd have to drive from Escazu. But when he described the property, I wanted to see it. And it was well worth the drive. Its only like 30 minutes from the International airport Juan Santamaria and 20 minutes from downtown Alajuela.
The drive is an easy one, either through Alajuela and by Barrio San Jose or taking the road to La Garita (by Zooave and Martino Hotel) all the way up to Barrio San Jose. Once you hit the seafood restaurant "La Princesa Marina" you turn left and at the famous "Las Orquideas" Bed & Breakfast turn right and then up till you get to San Pedor Poas.
SOLD - SOLD - SOLD. I can use many words to describe this home: Comfortable, cozy, pretty, functional and convenient, an that is the reason I wanted to tell you about this property in Los Arcos that I just listed.
In another blog, I told you all about the location and how nice it is to live in Los Arcos, as it offers all these little parks everywhere. This house is located on one of these cute little parks.
SOLD - SOLD - SOLD
The advantage of living in a house like this is that you live surrounded by beautiful trees and gives you the idea of living outside of the city, while at the same time you can enjoy the incredible amount of amenities that the area of Los Arcos and Ciudad Cariari have to offer:

This week, I listed a new property in Alajuela that is definitely worth mentioning on this blog because this is one of a kind property that you don't see every day. And the price is absolutely incredible for such a large property: only $380,000 and it is owner in a local corporation so you don't have to pay much for closing cost either.
This awesome property for sale is only less then 10 minute drive from the courthouse in downtown Alajuela, driving north toward Poas, past the new Alajuela Automercado. The road is in very good shape and it is a nice and clean drive with no shacks anywhere.
